This Week

Has been BIZZY, BIZZY!

Passport work ... the deadline's coming up quickly! Taking Gus-man to the vet for his snip-snip. Making cakes and cupcakes. Stray dog visits. Getting ready to go out with the girls.

Had to share this pic of the kids. ..... ok, so Lauren looks a little doped up, but Alivia is funny ... SEE-FOOD!

This week was cake and cupcake makin'!
Below is the cupcake cake that I made for Mel's daughter's birthday .... Originally, I frosted the 'liner' part and then ran a decorative tool over it so it had 'grooves' in it to make it look like a real liner. But when I did the birthday greeting, the writing looked awful, so I removed the writing, smoothed the blue frosting as it is in the pic for some texture, and added the birthday greeting. Turned out much better. BTW, the cake is Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake. Super yummy!

These are the cupcakes I made for Mel too. They are vanilla cupcakes with mini chocolate chips, frosted with chocolate frosting. They are soooooooooooooo gooooooddddd! There were a couple left ... and I have enjoyed them!
We had a stray dog spend the afternoon with us yesterday. I looked out the kitchen window to the backyard and thought to myself, why did Mum leave Gussy out???? Then I noticed that this Golden Retriever was bigger than Gus ... yes, we had a visitor. I coaxed her inside where she ate all the dog food in both bowls, drank most of the water and just generally looked for lovin'. I called both the SPCA and the radio station ... but got no hits. Eventually, Mum took her for a walk .... and she led Mum straight to her house! Thank goodness! Some might have said that we should have just left her outside and she would have made her way home, but I was really worried that she would get hit by a car .. the snowbanks are still really high and there is a lot of traffic in our neighbourhood now.
But all's well that ends well.
I will post tomorrow about Gussy man's. Poor baby ...

While at Big M's last night, I succumbed to the cutest American Crafts pattern paper. I had a 40% coupon that was burning a hole in my pocket. I can't wait to use it!

They aren't my usual colours, but I can totally see myself using them, well the majority of them, for LOs of Emma or my friends.

Last Night's Effort

This is last night's effort in the scrapbooking department. I am really happy with the way it turned out. And I don't even care that all the reds don't match 100%.

Latest Layouts

Well, my mojo has been hiding ... ever since January. I scrapbooked with the girls early that month and since then I have had absolutely no desire whatsoever to even look at my craft room let alone at my pictures.

For some reason, that all changed yesterday. I went to the market to get some Yummy Samosas, ran into Dee and her girls, then went to Chapters. I spied two of my fave mags - Canadian Scrapbooker and Scrapbooks Etc. All it took was flipping through the mags for a couple of minutes before I became bitten by the scrappin bug again.

I came home, but couldn't start right away - my craft room was a disaster. I have been piling things up on top of my desk, not dealing with the clutter. Before I could get to work, I had to clean up a bit. But even that seemed to help keep me motivated. Nothing was going to stop me, I guess.

The first LO I did was Cookie Monsters ... from one of the days I managed to wrest my kids from their father this past summer. We had a whole day of craftiness .... the first part was Clay Cafe ... then the afternoon was cookie decorating. They went a little crazy with the decorations, but had a great time. And of course, they went home their father in a huge sugar high!

My second LO is called Clay Cafe .... we spent the morning there painting. The kids had a great time ... Kayin could not be swayed from the skull, he loved that thing. I wonder if they even still have them. Or if they even made it back to BC with the kids. Who knows? Maybe they are buried under a pile of crap at their father's house still.

This isn't a LO that I did this weekend. It's actually from Tracey's February LO Tag. I completely forgot that I had to do ... so I whipped it together that Saturday morning, an hour before it was due. Not bad for being time crunched. Of course, this LO is of Baby T, or now better known as Xander.

That's all I've done so far. I am hoping to get back to my craft room today ... maybe pump out another LO before the weekend is over. Happy Scrapping!
