Anything with Mark Wahlberg is wonderful ... I think I need to get this movie.

All I can say is that the scene where Sarah was patching him up simply MADE the movie. Wow!

Definitely for action movie buffs.

I'm rather partial to Frank Miller movies ... Elektra, Sin City, even Robocop. I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie ... other than the fact that it would be gory, after all, it is a Frank Miller movie. I never expected to cry. But cry I did, at the end.

What I did know was that it would be no hardship to watch two hours of ripped, half naked men .... and I wasn't disappointed!

Gerard Butler (King Leonidas) ... yummy ... I adored him as the anti-hero in Lara Croft, Vlad in Dracula 2000, and especially as the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. He, just like Clive Owen, is coming into his own ... he's finally being recognised for the wonderful actor he is.

Two other actors to note would be Dominic West (28 Days, Mona Lisa Smile) who always plays the bad guy ... but he does it soooo well! and David Wenham (Moulin Rouge, Van Helsing) who floored me! with how ripped he was .. the last time I saw him in a movie, he looked like a brisk breeze would knock him over.

Dippy Whirl

I went to the FREX tonight for the first time in three years! Three years! And I really wasn't missing much. Except for the Dippy Dogs. I totally sucked on the Biggest Loser ... I ate three Dippy Dogs. They were soooo yummy! Pancake syrup and mustard on them. Yummy!!! And that was my supper.

So my aunt Joan met us there ... and we went over to the stables to see if we could find my uncle Jim ... he was helping Dana with the horses for the show. And sure enough he came running by with the team .... I know the picture is really dark ... the lighting was really bad ... but this was the team of Clydesdales from Prices that Jim was helping. This year was the first year in a long time the Exhibition had entries in the 6-horse Clydesdale team. Aren't they beautiful? Clydesdales are my favourite horse. Probably because they look so massive, but they are so very graceful. And the fetlock of course. Who doesn't love the Clydesdales fetlocks? Another horse I love is the Percheron. Another large but graceful horse.

We went on one ride - the tilt-a-whirl. The lines were so short, they were running the rides longer. What can I say? I haven't giggled like that in a long time.

That's some REALLY BIG HAIR I have there.
I don't particularly like it ... I really don't like my hair this long ... I think I will have to reschedule my hair appointment to get it sheared before the end of October. I won't be able to stand it.

Does One REALLY Need Sinuses?

Really! In the grand scheme of things, is it really necessary to have sinuses?

Cuz if not, I want mine removed. Now.

It's bad enough to have to deal with allergies ... which are at their peak for me right now .... but to now have a cold on top of it .... not impressed. Oi! Jessica arrived last week with a super runny nose, but I simply attributed it to allergies since mine were giving me grief. But no such luck. By the end of the week, both Lauren and I were getting sick.

The pressure was at its worst this morning ... my left maxillary sinus felt like it was trying to throb it's way out of my face, while the left frontal sinus was playing a reggae tune in my temple ... I think it went something like UB40's Red, Red Wine .... I managed to get it under control by late afternoon in the time honoured tradition of medicating myself to the gills ....

... but it's slowly coming back. Time to hit the decongestants and ibuprofen again.
