Girly-fied

Well, two mojitos, a wonderful supper, lots of chick chitchat and a relaxing yet exuberant pedicure later and I now feel all girly-fied!

We kid Princess about being pampered, but wait til you see the Queen. She gets her tootsies pampered almost every two months! Something to be said about that ... her pedi was done long before ours ... of course some of us have heels that resemble horse hooves so it takes longer. I am going to try to get a pedi more often ... it really would do wonders for my hooves, I mean heels.

When it came time to choose colours, I was the only one to go out on a limb ... what's with that? The colour is called 'Affair in Red Square' but it's now been dubbed "whore red". Thanks girls! Appreciate that.

To cap the evening off, I had the chance to watch Nick duck every few minutes because of the big bad chickadee-sized bat that was flying around the parking lot ... it was chuckle worthy.

I think I am going to schedule another pedi ... right before the retreat in October ... perfect way to start the weekend!

Melanie Wants a Post

Ok, since Melanie wants it, she's going to get it.

It won't be long, but here it is.

I'm taking a correspondance course.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Physics 122. Yes, you read that correctly. I'm usually bored out of my gourd most evenings, I miss learning new subjects (I LOVED university and all those lectures) so I figured I would take a course through NBCC Correspondance. I didn't know which course to try .... so I decided on Physics 122 because I never took it in high school and I enjoyed Physics 112.

I suppose I could have taken Math .... but I hate math with a passion. You know what's funny? I didn't do well in math, but I could always do the math in physics. Go figure.

I supposed I could have taken Biology .. but I have a degree in that ... it's kinda overkill. They offer Canadian Geography. Hmmm...maybe I will try that next.

The Bourne Ultimatum

The first time I ever saw Matt Damon in a movie, I was probably about 17 or 18 ... in School Ties. He didn't make a great impression on me. In fact, I really disliked him. It took me a long time to really appreciate him as an actor. In fact, the movie to do that was The Bourne Identity.

Needless to say, I have been a huge fan ever since. I adore him ... when it was all about Matt and Ben, I always loved Ben ... but now, it's all about Matt. Sad, I know.

Anyhoo ... on to the movie. Action, action, and more action. It most definitely lived up to it's predecessors on that score. Edge of your seat suspense from the very beginning all the way to the very last scene.

Loved this movie so much, that I am now anxiously waiting for the trilogy to come out on DVD to buy. I will give my Identity and Supremacy that I now own to someone when that happens.

I highly recommend this flick to anyone who appreciates a good action-thriller.

PS ... I went to this movie alone. By the time it started, I was happy to see that I wasn't the only single loser there ... there were two others.

When you think it's almost good ....

Just when things seem to be settling down, they go to pot again.

Oye.

The week before last(right after my vacation), I had Amy's Carter along with the Angel and the Devil. Oddly enough, after a Monday of torture (listening to Jessica cry and scream all day and I seriously mean ALL DAY), the Devil became an Angel. So I had two Angels that week!

Last week, despite being sick Monday and unable to take the kids and Jessica's parents deciding to send her to her grandmother's Tuesday as well as Monday for fear of contagion, wasn't so bad. Jessica seemed to have settled back in and most of the days were pleasant. Despite the molars coming through. She was still being an angel.

Yesterday was a pretty good day too. She was a little whiny at the end of the day, but I attributed that to teeth.

She arrived today with an explosive diaper (which hasn't happened in weeks! and she had one yesterday too - at home thankfully) and crying and screaming. The Devil has returned! The day hasn't improved much. Most days, after a nap, she seems to get a little better, but today isn't that day. At the moment , my Angel is watching the last half of Sesame Street (Owmo, as she says, is on the last 20 mins) and the Devil is having a time out.

I guess I should go get her now ... the screeching has stopped. Big sigh. I wonder how long that will last.
