Basement is done! Well, except for a few last minute things...

Tomorrow is devoted to cleaning. I HAVE to clean, seeing as how Krista is coming over... ultra self-concious about my house when she comes. But I still luv ya! : - D I'm starting to wonder if I should be self-concious that Kimmartha is coming over too. Hmmm.

Well, off to eat supper. Have a great night everyone!

So yesterday, I am watching TV and there is yet another Bush news conference. But this one is different.

Why? Perhaps because this one instills fear in the hearts of rational men and women. Perhaps because the topic of this news conference is what one person called the final plank towards Bush suspending the constitution, dissolving congress, and becoming sole dictator.

I'm talking about the Military Commission Act 2006. Basically, Bush can now name anyone, US citizen or not, as an unlawful enemy combatant, without proof. That person can be detained for any length of time, without charges, be tortured, cannot invoke the Geneva Convention, and then be tried by a military tribunal. Habeas Corpus, a legal instrument by which detainees can seek release from unlawful imprisonment, is GONE. Why? How? Because Habeas Corpus applies to lawful military combatants and obviously, if you're against the US, you're an unlawful military combatant.

Right by right, the American Constitution is being stripped away from the American people and still, no one blinks an eye. It's looking more like Bush will remain in office far longer than January 2009...he's been laying the ground work all along. And this Military Commission Act is one more step in that direction.

So here's an editorial for you to watch from Keith Olbermann of MSNBC. Don't roll your eyes or scoff or stick your head in the sand. Actually listen to what the man has to say. And it might just send a chill down your spine.

What's An Event Without Susan!?

Opening Remarks at Scrappers Treat

Special Delivery for Mel C!

This weekend at Scrappers Treat, Mel had a special delivery.

As some may know, Mel has a terrible drinking habit.

What's even more unfortunate - her alcohol of choice - Scope.

She had enough delivered at the hotel to do her the weekend!
