Pigment Pickle

Well, I've been playing around with the colours a bit...I wanted it to look more Halloween-ish. I looked for templates, but just couldn't find anything I really liked. So, back to simple black and tinkering with the colours.

I guess I'm just going to have to learn how to write my own template. From what I have read, it's not that hard, just a little tedious. At least, that is my take on it.

Nick, if you want to change the background of your blog, it's sooooo easy. You just have to pick a colour from the Web Safe Palette and enter it in your template text. Check out this site for colours: . If you need help, let me know.

Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!

Halloween Heartbreak

Ok, so I just read Anita's blog, which she finally updated this week, and I'm trying desparately not to cry. I miss them all so much.

Specially my boog (K) and my bug (Em). I haven't talked to them since they moved out west. I've only talked to Anita. With the time difference, it's kinda hard. I guess I've kinda been avoided it too. Probably because, shortly after they moved, I bawled like a baby when I was talking to Anita on MSN and she was typing what Em was saying.

I love Halloween, as some may know. And the whole kids party thing that I do is because of them. I don't have kids to spoil so I have always spoiled them. Not seeing or talking to them is very hard. I'm definitely going to miss having them at the party this year and seeing them in their costumes! I can't wait to see pictures of Emma as a dead princess! I can only imagine what Kayin has chosen for a costume.

I miss you guys! Luv you! I can't wait to see you at Christmas (if you're still coming).

Get off your Ass!

I was recently told that I **really** needed to update my blog. I know! I know! I am just suffering from a terrible case of blogger's block!

So I decided to post about the events of late. The events that are taking over my life.

I have been shopping, creating, designing, etc... for this sacred event. You ask, Halloween is a sacred event to me? No. It's a very important holiday to me. The party is the sacred event! I have to balance all the events I have planned...can't make it too scary...don't want to traumatize the rugrats. Too much, that is. Well, a little, maybe. I mean, what's Halloween without a scare?

My kitchen is a disaster area....five large boxes have been gutted and their contents strewn about the house. I have started the daunting task of decorating the house, forget the basement and the front yard!. Once I have the upstairs done, I will be able to concentrate on the rest. I try to shift things around so that it's not the same every year....hard to do when my imagination is on vacation. And even though I have lots of decorations, it just never seems to be enough. And it seems that when I am decorating, putting stuff out, I'm missing that one perfect thing. Which I don't have, which I never had! I just want MORE!

I spent the evening making ghosts. I think they turned out really well, for a pop bottle, some white fabric, some wire and a hot glue gun.

This is the ghost "in motion".

Before that, I was making my fog chiller. Fog chiller, you ask? What the hell? Well, as some may know, when your fogger pumps out the fog, it's hot and tends to float away. By sending the fog through a chiller, it will make it cling to the ground and look eerie. I sitll have to paint it tomorrow....thank goodness for the miracle of spray paints that adhere to plastic! No priming for me!

After all that, I still have to repair last years tombstones that took quite a beating and reinforce the new tombstones that I bought on our shopping trip. Then I have to make my Grim Reaper, but I'm still waiting for the mask to arrive from e-bay...I suppose I could get his eyes ready...I just need to get a couple of film canisters...anybody, scratch that...Princess, do you have any black film canisters? I only have clear or opaque ones.

I still have to decorate the front yard...always a challenge. Then I have to set up the maze/haunt in the basement....but that has to wait or Lauren will have no place to play. I'm still working on food for the party. I will make a few things, but I have had offers from those invited to help out in that department. Almost done stuffing the treat bags too! Just have to get some chocolate and candy and I'm all set!

And I guess that's it! My life is completely consummed by Halloween right now. For those of you who have not received an invite...give it a few days. Something may pop up in the mail!
